Jackie Warren “Jack” Orr, 77, of Powderly passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at his home. Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services for 3:00 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26th, at the Pavilion of Red Hill Cemetery with Rev. Mark Hutchison officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 – 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Mr. Orr, the son of Bruce & Mollie Tucker Orr, was born April 18, 1939, in Lamar County. He graduated from Powderly High School, East Texas State University and received his Master’s Degree from San Angelo State University. Jack served in the United States Army. At his retirement he was an Administrator with the San Angelo Independent School District. He was a member of the Powderly United Methodist Church. His father, Bruce Orr, preceded him in death. Survivors include his mother, Mollie Orr of Powderly, three children; Warren Orr & wife Darcey of Rockford, Jay W. Orr & wife Renee of Austin and Rhonda Orr of Powderly, two grandchildren; Bruce Orr and Jack Orr, a sister, Becky Young & husband Pat of Sumner, two nephews; Corey Young of Sherman and Junior Young & wife Whitnee of Sumner along with a host of friends.
