It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Bobbie Murray, who passed away, surrounded by family on Oct. 11, 2024, in Pattonville, Texas. Bobbie was born Oct. 11, 1963, at the Lamar County Hospital to the late Bob McDowra and Robbie Welch McDowra. After the passing of her father, Marlin and Nora McDowra adopted and reared her as their own.
Bobbie attended Powderly and Deport Elementary Schools and graduated from Prairiland High School in 1982. Bobbie loved the country life and as a child enjoyed riding her horse, Salty, but her biggest joy was spending time with her family, and her lifelong best friend, Dahlia.
Bobbie is survived by her husband, Sam Murray, daughter, Racheal Brown & husband Brandon; daughter, Shelby Crosby & husband Derrick; daughter, Tanya Young & husband Reginald; daughter, Sammi Murray; son, Scotty Murray & fiancé Amy; daughter, Tasha Murray Yepiz; 17 grandbabies and 6 great grandbabies. Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, Bob & Robbie McDowra, Marlin McDowra, Jimmy White, sisters, Ruth Jackson, Ramona Jackson, and Marla Davis.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18th at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Mel Murphy and Chris Whitley officiating. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Bobbie will remain forever in our memories and our hearts, and we will find solace in the memories we shared with her.
Rest in peace our sweet Bobbie. We will miss you daily, remember you always, and be forever grateful that we had the privilege of knowing you.
The family would like to thank the Stepdown Nurses at Paris Regional Health and the wonderful staff at Platinum Hospice. You will hold a special place in our hearts.
