Ricky Lee Raynor (Rick) August 25, 1960 – April 7, 2020. Went home to our Lord on Tuesday April 7, 2020 after a period of declining health. Rick was born in Charleston West Virginia to Jimmy and Janet (Massey) Raynor. He graduated, class of 1978, from Phoebus High School in Williamsburg Virginia and at 17 years old began his life ambition of becoming a United States Marine completing bootcamp at Paris Island, recruit class of August 1978. His 20 years career with the Marines afforded him the opportunity to serve his country around the world including Cuba, Guam, Japan and numerous ports of call throughout Europe. During his early career he participated in the Multinational Force in Lebanon and was ashore in 1983 when the Marine barracks were tragically bombed, taking sniper fire at the airstrip. He was part of a liaison group training with the Australian Royal Rangers where he enjoyed using his scuba certification to explore the Great Barrier Reef. His greatest drive though was to provide for his immediate and extended family. To that end when stateside he would supplement his military pay with part time employment. He translated those skills into his second career, after 20 years in the Marines, when he moved his family to Omaha and began working for Oriental Trading Company. Rick was preceded in death by his parents Jimmy and Janet Raynor and his brother Jimmy Dean Raynor. He is survived by his wife Katherine L. (Benoit) Raynor, sister Sue Ann (Raynor) Dodge (Mark) and his brother Timothy Raynor (Tanya). He is also survived by his children Bryan Raynor, Tia (Raynor) Nelson (Joshua), Kelly (Raynor) Gamblin (Joe), Kevin Lee Raynor and stepdaughter Raelyn Benoit.
