Jerry's house was full of family and friends on Saturday, July 6th to see him before his passing on Sunday morning. Jerry loved Husker football, fishing, hunting, playing horseshoes, gardening, working in the yard, and wood crafting. Jerry married the love of his life Alice on April 7, 1956. They enjoyed going dancing and camping together. He was a member at Otoe Rod and Gun Club for 18 years. In 1952, Jerry was drafted in the Korean War for two years where he served in the United States Army. He retired in 1996 after working at Peter-Kiewit construction for 33 years. In 1964, he built a house to raise his family in Springfield, Nebraska.
Preceded in death by his wife, Alice Holz; mom and dad, Fritz and Sylvia Holz; sons, Danny, Patrick, and Jerry Holz Jr; siblings, Shirley Fundaburg, Karl Holz, Paul Holz, Maryann Cornell, and Bob Holz.
Survived by siblings, Fred Holz and Joy Osburn; children, Kenny Holz, Valerie Petereit, Tammy (John) Prochnow, and LeRoy Holz; grandchildren, Molly Erickson, Kelsey (Jesse) Ronk, Eric (Caity) Holz,Travis Rowland, KJ Holz, Chris (Dana) Mathiasen, Alicia Petereit, Zackary (Kylie) Petereit, Jeremy (Amber) Prochnow, Justin Prochnow and Brandie Smith; and several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
