Lucy Lorine Moore passed away peacefully on Friday, October 19, 2018. Lucy was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Italian immigrants, Pasquale and Domenica Cipolla. She was physically beautiful but her inward beauty was just as apparent. As a young girl, she loved bowling, swimming and movies. She was voted the “Smooth Girl" of her senior class. In 1943, she graduated from Overbrook High School in Philadelphia. Lucy worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad for a time before marrying her high school sweetheart, the late Joseph Robert Lorine, in June of 1945. Lucy was an accomplished seamstress and loved singing, dancing, playing bridge, cooking and travel. She was an active member of AARP, St. Norbert Church and To Live Again, an organization for widows and widowers. She loved being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. After raising their family and spending forty wonderful years together, Joseph passed away in 1985. Lucy married the late Henry Allan Moore in 1994. They were blessed to have twenty three years together in Hershey’s Mill in West Chester, PA. “Mr. Allan” passed away in April of 2017. Lucy then resided in Downingtown with her daughter and son-in-law until her peaceful passing at home, surrounded by her loving family.
Survivors:
Lucy was deeply loved and dear to the hearts of her late husband, Joseph, and their five children: Robert Lorine (the late Lynn), Joanne Risley (John), Susan Falkner (Jack), Jeffrey Lorine (Annmarie) and Christina Kennedy (Darryl). She is survived by 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren from her marriage to Joseph. She is also survived by 4 step children and 3 step grandchildren through her marriage to “Mr. Allan.”
Relatives and friends are welcome to visit with the family on Friday, October, 26, 2018 at St. Norbert Church, 50 Leopard Road in Paoli, PA, between the hours of 9:30 and 10:45 a.m. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. in the church. Interment will follow at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery, 1600 Sproul Road, Springfield, PA 19064. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Lucy’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital online or by mail to 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
