Kenneth Daly

He is survived by his wife, Donna, his two sons ( Matthew and Andrew), his two daughters-in-law ( Kristen and Erin), and his six grandchildren ( Luke, Caleb, Nate, Elsa, Maren, and Lydia). He is predeceased in death by his brother (George), his mother (Katherine), and his father (George).

Ken was raised in Philadelphia, PA, and Claymont, DE. He graduated from the University of Delaware, where he met the love of his life, Donna Jean Jones. Ken and Donna were married in 1968 and enjoyed over 52 years of marriage. Newly married, they moved to California when Ken was stationed in San Francisco while he served in the army as a lieutenant.

After a brief army career, Ken earned his Certified Public Accountant designation and was hired by the accounting firm Peat Marwick (later KPMG) where he had a long, distinguished career and retired as a senior partner. For the next 10 years, Ken served as the Chief Executive Officer of the National Association of Corporate Directors, a non-profit based in Washington D. C., which advocates for the best practices in corporate governance, until his retirement.

Ken never forgot his humble beginnings and regularly preached and practiced the values of persistent hard work and good morals. He was actively involved for many years at his church, Saint Luke Lutheran in Devon, PA. For those who had the honor of knowing Ken, they will remember an extremely generous man who was a significant donor to several charitable organizations, especially Lutheran Services of America, where he served on the Board of Directors. He also served on the Board for Powerlytics. Additionally, Ken was invited back to KPMG, serving on the Board as a senior adviser of the Board Leadership Center. He had the exceptional gift of recognizing the needs and potential of those whom he met and would regularly go out of his way to help support and encourage loved ones, acquaintances, and strangers to achieve their goals.

Ken was a devoted father, husband, grandfather, and friend. He enjoyed traveling and vacationing with family and friends. As a member of Chester Valley Golf Club, Ken was an avid golfer and also played regularly with his good friends throughout the U. S., as well as Ireland. He will likely be remembered by all as, perhaps, having the largest memory bank of jokes of anyone they ever met. Ken was loved by everyone who knew him and will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.

A visitation will be held on Thursday evening, June 24th, from 6:00 – 8:00pm, at Alleva Funeral Home, Inc. 1724 E. Lancaster Ave, Paoli, PA.

On Friday, June 25th, a visitation from 10:00 - 11:00am will be held at Saint Luke Lutheran Church, 203 N. Valley Forge Rd., Devon, PA; with a Funeral Service to follow beginning at 11:00am. A light luncheon will be served at the church following the funeral.
