Age 97, of Palm Beach Gardens FL, formerly of Belmont MA, passed away peacefully in her home on February 26, 2024. Charlotte was born in Scranton, PA to Eugene and Ida Brandwene. She was predeceased by her husband Howard who she met when they were in Jr. High School and were married shortly after Howard graduated from Lehigh University. They enjoyed over 72 years of marriage. She was also predeceased by her sister Guitelle. Charlotte leaves three children; James and his wife Marsha Ellowitz, Sue Lamb and her husband Paul, and Jeff and his wife Cindy Schlessinger. Charlotte also leaves four grandchildren; Audrey (Todd) Bertoson, Joanna Lamb, and Cal and Rebecca (Ruby) Ellowitz and one step great grandchild; Evelyn Bertoson. Charlotte and Howard raised their family in Belmont, MA, and became residents of Palm Beach Gardens Florida in the 90s. Charlotte was an active member of her community, chairing many committees and organizations in the schools and synagogue. She worked at Bank of America in Cambridge, MA, opening accounts and supporting customers. Charlotte was an excellent bridge player, and also loved to play Canasta and Mah Jongg. Charlotte played golf for many years and was an avid Boston sports team fan – the Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics had her full support. Charlotte and Howard enjoyed worldwide travel throughout their marriage. Charlotte loved to entertain friends and family – hosting holidays and special events. She was an accomplished baker and excellent cook. Charlotte was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. She loved to look her best and dress in style. She was admired and loved by the staff and all her friends at the Madyson Assisted Living facility – active and engaged to the very end of her 97 years. She was a great example of how to live life well, with grace and energy. She will be missed.
