Monte Carlos Clark

Monte passed peacefully in his home in Melbourne, Florida., he was 89.
Monte was born in Hillview, Illinois, and moved to Belleview Kansas as a young boy. He joined the United States Air Force during the Korean War and served as a linguist having studied Korean at Yale University. Later in life Monte attended Michigan Technological University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Geological Engineering. During his career he and his wife (Marie) Frances lived and traveled to many states in the US and spend some time living in Belgium.
He was a member of the Elks and Moose Lodges over the years as well as a member of the Masons., VFW and American Legion. He also had memberships in the Alumni Association of the Michigan College of Mining and Technology, American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical and Petroleum Engineers, AIME, and various other professional organizations.
After retiring from his engineering career Monte and his wife moved to Lake Worth Florida. There they enjoyed the warm weather, playing golf and bought a sailboat. Monte worked as a tax preparer for H&R Block for over 10 years. In the early ‘90’s the couple moved north to Melbourne Florida. He kept busy working in his yard tending to orchids and meticulously trimming his trees and bushes. He enjoyed reading and visiting with friends in the neighborhood. Both he and his wife were avid dog lovers and later when his wife (Marie) Frances passed away in 2004, he would help watch his neighbors’ dogs. Over the years he still kept in touch with friends from the AirForce, Michigan Tech, Industry and had remained close friends to his former neighbors, the Davies after they moved back to Wales from Melbourne with routine FaceTime chats.
His niece Edwina and her husband, Richard kept watch over him with regular Sunday dinners, holiday dinners and local trips. Monte also attended high school and college graduations of grand nephews and nieces in addition to their weddings.
Monte is pre deceased by his parents, Carlos Kent Clark and Hazel Mae Clark, Brothers Harvey Murrell Clark and Marty Clark. He is survived by his niece, Edwina (Fiasconaro) Szelag and nephews Kent Carlos Clark and Neil Fiasconaro. He has 4 grand nieces and nephews, Megan (Clark) Berhens, Christine (Fiasconaro) Rodriquez, Kevin Clark, Anthony Szelag and two step nephews Adam and Patrick Purol.
His wishes were to be cremated and placed with his loving wife Frances.
The Committal of ashes will be at Fountain Head in Palm Bay Florida March 7, 2024
