Pacific Grove

Robert C. Hummer passed away at his Pacific Grove home this week. He served in the US Army, devoted many years in community development, and was a trained sound technician before beginning a 40-year career in management in the Silicon Valley. Bob and his wife loved living in Pacific Grove and were active in the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Pacific Grove Heritage Society and the Monterey Bay Porsche Club. Bob is survived by his 4 daughters Alicia Bang (with husband Steve Bang), Wendy DeSotell, Lisa Hunter and Maria Lynn (with Partner: Diana Berry). Bob was also blessed with 3 granddaughters: Claire, Laura and Nicole Bang. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, in 2007. Bob’s family thanks the many healthcare providers in Pacific Grove and Monterey who cared for him over the years and in particular in the last month of his life. A Celebration of the Completed Life of Bob will take place at El Carmelo Cemetery in Pacific Grove on Sunday, July 26 at 12:00 Noon.
