I never had the pleasure of meeting Peter but I do hold the honor of being named after him.  My dad  and Peter were lifelong friends, and in 1975 I was born and was given Peters last name,  Brooks. Peter and I have talked on a few occasions over the years as we shared a mutual love of guitars and guitar playing, I feel fortunate for those moments and will reflect on them fondly. My sympathies for his family, friends and loved ones. Thank you Peter for being such a great friend to my father. 

Peter Brooks was my best friend for 60 years and a little bit of me departed with him on the 21st of January. Our relationship was based on a thousand secrets and long term mutual trust. We always looked at problems with  a smile and created invisible characters that were with us all these years. Peter often wondered what it would be like to be the Rocket( Montreal Canadians Rocket Richard!)

My memories go back to 8th grade. Our band was called the Galatones. We loved our time together and I will think of my dear friend often. There are no greater joys than a true friend. FAREWELL MY TRUE FRIEND...Sig 

I was saddened by the news of Peter's passing. He was a fellow musician and good friend. I have memories of playing bass with him at the OCC, jamming with Ambrose and just playing in his attic studio on Ronda. He always had a kind word to say and a smile on his face. Rest in peace Peter. 

Peter became a close friend through our work together on the board of directors of the Restless Legs Syndrome Foundation.  He was an amazing individual. First he had a successful career as an investment banker. Then he became a renowned artist, painting in the abstract style. Then he became an acclaimed songwriter and singer.  Wow. 

Through all the time I knew him, he suffered significantly from the sleep depreciation and other aspects of the disease. He never let it slow him down or stop him. 

Peter, you were one outstanding guy!  Thank you. 

With hearts full of sympathy and love we send our condolences and prayers for peace to each of the Brooks family.
