Leslie Armstrong O’Sullivan passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 17th, in her Pacific Grove residence. Leslie was unbelievably strong and quietly battled cancer for nine and a half years with the support of her loving medical team, her great sense of humor, and her unparalleled “mind over matter” strength.
Leslie was born to Kenneth and Francis Armstrong on December 26, 1953, in Elizabeth, NJ. She met her husband, Roger O’Sullivan, in Birmingham, MI in 1972, and they married in July of 1977. Together they drove their VW van from Birmingham to Monterey, CA, where they began their adventures together as a family. Leslie spent most of her career working for Salinas Union High School District.
Leslie will forever be missed by her loving husband, Roger, their two daughters, Kate O’Sullivan Messerli and Carey O’Sullivan Fedele, her sister, Mary Samyn, her sons in law, Jake Messerli and Trevor Fedele, and the joys of her life, her grandchildren, Aidyn Clare (8), Milo O’Sullivan (7), James Duffy (5), and Iris Maeve (4). Leslie will also be missed by her extended family who love her very much, and her dear friends whom she considered family.
A memorial service in her honor will take place on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Palma High School Chapel, 919 Iverson Street, Salinas, CA at 11AM.
