Amparo J. Lopez rested in the arms of Jesus peacefully on November 29, 2024 at the age of 82. She was born on January 28, 1942 in Oxnard California to Gilberto and Nicolasa Hernandez. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Joe Lopez and their children, Frank Lopez (Sylvia), Jeanette Veronica (Phillip), Priscilla Lopez Padilla, and Randy Lopez (Lydia). She is also survived by brothers, Arturo Hernandez, Edward Hernandez and John Vasquez, all of Oxnard. She was preceded into heaven by her sister Alice Vasquez, and brother Gilbert Hernandez.
She was a loving Grandmother to twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, and countless nieces and nephews.
Amparo was a Licensed daycare provider for Forty-plus years. She provided care for many children in the community including her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Many of who still kept in contact with her well into adulthood, which is a testament to her loving, warm, and big heart.
She was not only a loving mother to her children and grand-children, she made EVERYONE she met feel loved and welcomed.
Her hobbies included: looking for treasures at the thrift stores, and spending time in her backyard garden. But most of all, she loved being with friends and family, whether it be traveling near or far, or just at home having barbecues. Her laughter was infectious and she was always up for any adventure! She was the heart and soul of our family and she will be forever deeply missed.
Funeral mass will be held at St. Anthony Church, 2511 South “C” Street in Oxnard on Friday, December 20th at 9:30 a.m.
Burial Service will be held at Ivy Lawn Memorial, 5400 Valentine Road,
Ventura at: 11:00 am.
Reception to follow at the Elks Lodge, 801 South A St Oxnard 12:30-3:30 PM.
