Jennifer Louise Sandoval of Winter Park, Florida (formerly of Oviedo) passed away on July 24, 2023 surrounded by her devoted father, Paul, and her beloved fiancé, Walter. Jenni was predeceased by her loving mother, Sharon in April of this year.
Jenni was born on July 2, 1975 in Tucson, Arizona. Though an honored Floridian, Jenni was truly a global citizen. As a proud “military brat”, Jenni was lucky to be stationed in Naples, Italy and Mission Viejo, California during her formative years of childhood. Her family's time in Italy and their extensive travel throughout Europe sparked a wanderlust and cultural inquisitiveness in Jenni that was never diminished. While earning her degree and masters at the University of Central Florida, Jenni spent multiple semesters at the archeological site in Carcol, Belize under the guidance of the Drs. Chase. She traveled all over the United States throughout her life and would immerse herself in the lifestyle of her destinations while also visiting her treasured family and friends. Just weeks before her death she embarked on a cruise making cherished memories with Wally.
Jenni channeled her love of learning into a 23 year career as a revered educator. She taught middle school at Page Private School, Avalon Middle School and was a founding teacher at the Timber Springs Middle School as a gifted and 6th grade ancient history teacher. Her days spent in Belize and her vast knowledge of ancient history helped her shape thousands of children in her storied career and undoubtedly is her proudest legacy. Rarely were you in Jenni’s company without hearing a story about her “kids” and the impact they made on her life.
Jenni was her mom’s best friend and shared her love of sweet tea, broadway shows and Christmas decorating. Jenni was her dad’s pride and joy and never missed a Star Wars or Marvel movie matinee with him. Jenni found her match when she met Wally. They shared a passion for all things Disney, took spectacular trips and saw the best concerts as they grew in their love. Each and every one of her friends considered her their best and it was a privilege to be her friend.
She was a lover of all animals, but like her mom, cats had her heart and soul. She was a music lover and concert enthusiast. Just weeks ago she saw The Cure in Tampa which was her bucket list show that was 35 years in the making. Jenni practiced the Japanese art of ikebana and brought endless joy to her social media feeds with each week’s design.
Jenni faced her illness valiantly and with hope. She lived fully and was focused on living until her last breath. She ensured that everyone in her life knew the depth for which she loved them and she will be missed beyond measure.
The family will be honoring her in a Celebration of Life memorial at Baldwin-Fairchild in Oviedo on Saturday, August 26. Please feel free to stop in anytime between 1:00-3:00 pm.
