On Tuesday, September 26, 2023 in Oviedo, Florida Colleen Butler, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed on from this earth to enter the kingdom of Heaven at the age of 64. Colleen was born in High Prairie, Alberta, Canada to Earl and Ivy Beamish. She is survived by her five siblings, Evelyn Franklin, Sam Beamish, Carol Beamish, Kevin Beamish, and Garry Beamish.
Colleen met her husband Gary Butler by chance while on vacation to Florida in 1982. They quickly fell in love and were married on May 22, 1983 and recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary this year. Colleen contributed her talents to multiple companies through the years, working with Winn-Dixie, Oviedo Gardens, Watson Reality, and Qualified Mortgage.
She was an avid book reader and collector. She also loved to cook and entertain her family and friends. Colleen was known for having a heart of gold and ruling with an iron fist. She enjoyed being immersed in nature; gardening, camping, fishing, and swimming. Colleen also had an affinity for the beach and watching the sun rise and set. She loved reading while listening to the ocean waves. She was also an avid animal lover, caring for many family pets through the years, but most recently she was a beloved Dog Mom to Foxy, Basia, Bailey, and Marley.
Her family and friends will miss her compassionate nature, beautiful smile, and strong will. Colleen is survived by her husband, Gary Butler, her two children, Stephanie Ayers, and Shawn Butler, as well as her five grandchildren, Jude Ayers, Sadie Ayers, Ethan Butler, Paige Butler, and Alayna Butler.
