Willie was born November 25, 1933 in May Day, Kansas. He married Mabel Baker on March 10, 1978. Willie worked for Crimsco and traveled the United States with the company, then went into business for himself as a manufacture representative. Willie and Mabel enjoyed going on cruises and traveled to several countries. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends playing pitch and working on racecars. Willie took pride in his yard and enjoyed working on it every day. At the end of his work day, he would enjoy a Manhattan cocktail and spending time with his grandcat, Lucy.
Willie was preceded in death by his mother, Ola Winterscheid; father, Lloyd Burt and brothers, Duane and Dale Burt.
He is survived by his wife, Mabel Burt; daughter, Marilyn Shepherd and husband, Jonathon; granddaughter, Cassie Lemmon; grandson, Justin Lemmon and wife, Jessica, and great step granddaughters, Matti and Shelby; grandson, Patrick Lemmon and great granddaughters, Harley and Kaisley; nephews, Everett and wife, Jean, Alan and wife, Mona, and Ronnie and wife, Elaine, as well as many more family and friends.
A memorial visitation for Wilbur will be held Thursday, December 30, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at McGilley & Hoge Johnson County Memorial Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park, KS 66204.
