Sue Estelle Krizman, 88, of Overland Park, Kansas passed away on March 4, 2021. Graveside services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, 8321 Quivira Road, Lenexa, Kansas 66215.
Sue Estelle Krizman was born on July 15, 1932 in Wichita, Kansas. She was a loving mother/wife, an avid sports enthusiast, accomplished tennis player, and lifelong golfer. Her family moved frequently growing up giving her the opportunity to play tennis in many different parts of the country at a time when young girls were not encouraged to play sports. She attended Kansas State University where she completed her undergraduate degree in Fine Arts while a member of the Chi Omega Sorority. Sue joined the marketing department of Katz Pharmacy in Kansas City and is credited with designing the Katz logo. She married her husband Don in 1957 and moved to Nall Hills area in Overland Park making it their lifelong home. She had a lifelong enjoyment of golf and social engagement at Brookridge Country Club where she was a founding member. Sue was very active in the Kansas City tennis scene where she organized, hosted, and operated local and national youth tennis tournaments for over 25 years. As a result she was elected to the United States Tennis Association (Missouri Valley Section) Hall of Fame in 2016.
Sue was preceded in death by her mother Dorothy Burke, her father Edward Burke, her brother Patrick Burke, and her husband of 50 years Donald Krizman.
She is survived by her two sons and spouses David and Deb Krizman, Garth and Jenny Krizman, and seven grandchildren Zachary, Sophie, Nina, Sam, Anna, Walker, and Michael.
