Stephanie Swieton Mroz

Stephanie Mroz was a first generation American born of Polish immigrants Carrie Grazda and Walter Swieton. Stephanie cherished her younger brother Edwin Swieton and sisters Helen Swieton Chrzanowski and Adeline Swieton who have predeceased her. Stephanie attended Business College for two years. She retired from full and part time general office work in Accounting, Bookkeeping, and Office Management for small companies in the construction fields of flooring, insulation, and guttering. Stephanie married Walter Mroz at St. Joseph’s Church, Kansas City, KS in 1945. Stephanie received six of the seven sacraments there. Walter died in 2001. Their children and spouses are: Eugene and Nancy Mroz, Santa Fe, NM; Larry Mroz, Prairie Village, KS; Mike McClannahan Sr. and Marilyn Mroz, Kansas City, MO. Stephanie was known as Baci to four grandchildren: Melanie Morris of Knoxville,TN; Mike McClannahan Jr. of Columbia, MO; Mary McClannahan and William McClannahan of Kansas City, MO. She was great-grandmother (Prabaci) to Kellan Morris and Michael McClannahan III. Stephanie and Walter had many beloved nieces and nephews who enriched their lives. Walter and Stephanie made life-long friendships with neighbors of Christ the King Parish in Kansas City, KS. Stephanie especially loved Queen of the Holy Rosary Parish, asking for their prayers hours before she died. The family believes that she would approve of donations in her name to the charitable organization of your choice or Queen of the Holy Rosary Parish in lieu of flowers. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, June 26, at 11am at the Queen of the Holy Rosay, Overland Park, KS. Visitation will precede at 10am. Burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, KS.
