She attended the University of Louisville, KY, where she met the love of her life, Robert Belusky, who was a US Army Captain stationed at Fort Knox. They married in 1959, and established their home in Chicago, as Bob began his career with IBM. They lived in Peoria, IL and St. Louis, MO before settling in Overland Park, where they were active members of Cure' of Ars Catholic Church. Monica was a long-time volunteer at the church and the school, where she led the Junior Great Books discussions. She practiced her strong faith daily in her words and deeds.
An avid reader, Monica was a member of the Cure' Book Club, as well as a smaller book club with friends Pat, Diane, Nancy and others. She was an exceptional cook and hostess, and loved gardening. She was generous, kind and loving, and her home was warm and welcoming to all.
