Michael Ray Brown

Michael Ray Brown, age 67, of Overland Park, Kansas passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2024 at the Olathe Hospice House. Visitation will be held Friday, December 13, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at McGilley & Hoge Johnson County Memorial Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park, Kansas 66204, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 7:00 PM.

Michael was born on July 11, 1957 in Oberlin, Kansas. He married Cynthia Grace (McMillin) Brown on December 13, 1983. He graduated from Fort Hays State University - Class of 1991 - BA in Sociology. Michael worked approximately 20 years at the Norton Correctional Facility and 7 years with the Johnson County Sheriff's Department.

Michael enjoyed fishing, playing pool, watching football and spending time with his beloved family.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Charles Henry Brown; mother, Mildred Fern (Bailey) Brown; and brother, Charles Wayne Brown.

Michael is survived by his wife of almost 41 years, Cynthia Brown, of the home; his son, Charles Brown (Ambre Brown), Lenexa, Kansas; daughters, Brianna Vollbracht (Elgin Vollbracht), Wichita, Kansas and Heather Bieker (Travis Bieker) Rexford, Kansas; grandchildren, Keely Brown, Cory Burrows, Megan Austin, Isabella Bieker, Cooper Vollbracht, Corbin Vollbracht and Camden Vollbracht; and his three siblings, Patty Chilson, Pete Brown and Ike Brown.
