Margaret Mary "Peggie" Thompson

Margaret Mary "Peggie" Thompson (O'Carroll), age 93, of Leawood, Kansas passed away on Monday, June 17, 2024 at her home. Vistitation will be 9:00 am - 10:00 am on Saturday, June 29th at the McGilley & Hoge Johnson County Memorial Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park, Kansas with the Funeral Service at 10:00 am. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Lenexa, Kansas. There will be a gathering after the entombment service from 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm at the home of Greg and Tammy Lamar, 9901 Horton Drive, Overland Park, Kansas 66207. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Margaret Mary's memory may be made to Great Plains SPCA Animal Shelter, 5423 Antioch Drive, Merriam, Kansas 66202; and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.

She was born on July 18, 1930 in Knockanure Co. Kerry, Ireland. Peggie worked for Farmland (formerly COOP) for 16 years. She and her husband owned Shamrock Service, a vending company. Peggie was active with PETA, also a member of the Church of the Nativity. She was a loving wife, sister and aunt.

Peggie was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy; her mom and dad; her brothers, Jerry and Danny; her sister, Kitty and a whole lot of animals that she loved!

Survivors include her sisters, Cecelia and Teresa; her brother, Maurice; her immediate family, Greg, Tammy and Jon; and numerous nephews and nieces.
