Doris Marie Shughart, 96, of Leawood, Kansas passed away on November 25, 2022 at The Kansas City Hospice House. Doris will be laid to rest next to her husband, Russell, in Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, Kansas. Her graveside service will begin at 12:30pm on Thursday, December 1, 2022.
Doris was born April 20, 1926, in Independence, Kansas to Floyd C. and Esther (Sharp) Miller. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. A life-long resident to the Midwest, living in Kansas, Iowa and Illinois. She and her husband were active in veteran organizations of The American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars in each city they lived.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell W. Shughart and her parents.
Doris is survived by her sons, Larry W. Shughart of Frisco, Texas and Vern Shughart of San Rafael, California; granddaughters, Erika Lynne Shughart and Michelle Lee Shughart and great granddaughter, Elizabeth Henley.
