Carol Cook

Carol Cook, 78, of Overland Park, KS passed away March 2, 2022 at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission. Her visitation will begin at 1pm, followed by her funeral at 2pm on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Community Covenant Church, 15700 W. 87th Street Parkway, Lenexa, KS 66219. Cremation will follow the service.

Carol was born February 11, 1944 to John and Lucille (Mather) Berrett in Ames, Iowa. She graduated from Ballard High School, Huxley, IA in 1962. She married Merle Muhlenbruck in 1963 and together, they had a daughter, Dawn. Most of her working years were spent at Ames Lab at IA State University. While working there, she met Greg Cook. Carol and Greg got married in 1991 in Ft. Smith, AR. They enjoyed playing golf together, biking and family vacations at Lake Okoboji in Iowa.

Carol was Dawn’s best friend. They enjoyed shopping and crafting for hours together. Laughing was a favorite thing to do! But most of all she enjoyed her family.

Carol is survived by Greg; Dawn; step-daughters, Andrea Cook and Corie Meraz (Mark); grandchildren, Carmen Tannehill (James), Katie and Maddie Quirarte, Dakotah (Cook) Kellenberger, Sebastian, Sebrina, Skyland, Saban and Sophie Meraz and great grandson, Alexander Tannehill; five brothers, Norman (Marcia), Robert (Dianne), Wayne (Millie), Ronald (Becky) and Donald (Marolyn) and many nieces and nephews.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents and niece, Rosalyn (Berrett) Hassell.
