Bernice C. Smith, 101, of Overland Park, Kansas passed away on December 12, 2017. Visitation will be from 7:00 - 7:30 pm on Monday, December 18th at the McGilley & Hoge Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park, Kansas with a funeral service to follow Monday at 7:30 pm at the chapel. Private interment in Resurrection Cemetery, Kansas City, Missouri.
Bernice Lange was born on July 11, 1916 in Broadview, Illinois. She graduated from Proviso East High School in 1934. She married Robert T. Smith of Maywood, Illinois in 1950. Bob and Bernice had two children, Linda and Mike and in 1962, the family moved to Kansas City, MO. In 1973, Bob and Bernice moved to Los Alamitos, California. Bob passed away in 1981, but Bernice remained in California until 2000, when she returned to the KC area to be near Linda and Mike.
Bernice was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Smith. She is survived by her brother, Leonard (Brud) Lange; her nephew, Steve Lange; her niece, Patti Ferguson; her son, Mike Smith and his wife, Tammy; and her grandson, Murphy Smith. Bernice was a loving mom and grandmother and will be missed, for crype sake!
