Redmond , Shirley Marguerite ( née Slaunwhite)
With great sadness we announce our Mom’s passing at the May Court Hospice on November 25. After suffering a cerebral hemorrhage, she slipped away as quickly and peacefully as she could have hoped. This past year was difficult for her, she so missed our Dad who left us on July 6, 2016. We take comfort in knowing that they are together again, John William and Shirley Marguerite, a “forever couple”. A lady in every way, our mother always modeled great pride in hearth and home. Her life centered on her daughters Judi (Ron Sarginson); Pat (Bruce Irving); Linda (Ed Riley) and Barbara (Dennis Jonathan). Her six grandchildren and ten great- grandchildren will cherish the memories that she has created with them and will surely aspire to espouse the values and faith that they saw her live by.
Mom was predeceased by her parents George and Elizabeth, her infant sister Bernice, and her brothers Bob and Stan Slaunwhite. She is survived by her treasured sister Joyce Brown and her family who will carry her on in their hearts. She will be fondly remembered by her sisters- in- law Betty O’Brien (N. S.) and Carolyn Macintosh and Margaret Anne Edmunds (B.C.), as well as by her special brother-in-law Jack Redmond and his wife Anne of Toronto.
A celebration of Mom’s life will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 1758 Alta Vista Drive, on Wednesday, November 29 at 11:00 a.m. Please join us.
Should you wish to make a donation to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to Hospice Care Ottawa , Mom would be most grateful.
