After a long, valiant battle with complications from diabetes, Ronald James Conway Cooper of Rockland, Ontario, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of December 13th, 2021, surrounded by his family.
He is lovingly survived by his wife of 46 years, Jane, their favourite daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Johnathon, their favourite son and daughter-in-law James and Sara, and their favourite granddaughter Cassara. He is also survived by his mother Cecile, brother Tom (Nancy), and his niece Sarina (Francois) and nephew Shaun (Hillary), as well as many other cherished extended family and friends.
Ron was a man that loved fiercely, both his family and his community. He served as a police officer for 30 years, beginning his career in Bois-des-Filion, Quebec, then moving to Gloucester, Ontario and retiring from the Ottawa Police Service.
Along the way Ron was active in his community - helping with the Boy Scouts, the Rockland Foodbank, St. Andrew’s Christian Church and many others.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11am on Monday, December 20th at St. Andrew’s Christian Church, 739 St. Jean Street, Rockland Ontario. Proof of vaccination will be required.
