Passed away peacefully at the Ottawa General Hospital on February 6, 2016 at the age of 99. Beloved wife of the late William “Bill” Butler. Sister of the late Helen Craig. Treasured loving mother of Brian Butler (deceased), Barry Butler and Deborah Vetter. Grandmother to Michael (Maria) and Brendan; Sarah, Savannah and Adam. Aunt to Bill and Brenda. Great grandmother to Ashly and Chace. Best mother-in-law ever to Barbara Butler and Scott Vetter. Born in nearby Vars, Marie is remembered as a warm, unassuming, caring woman who will be deeply missed by all that knew her. Thanks to the staff and volunteers at St. Patrick’s Home for their kind and compassionate care and friendships. Family and friends may pay their respects on Saturday, February 13 at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home and Chapel, 1411 Hunt Club Road. Visitation hours are 4-6 pm followed by a Service in the Chapel from 6pm-6:30 pm.
