We are profoundly saddened to inform you that Linda Jolicoeur passed away on November 17th at the age of 69 years. True to her Ukrainian heritage, Linda fought her cancer with utmost determination and dignity.
She leaves behind her husband Pierre Jolicoeur, daughters Camille Jolicoeur and Catherine Jolicoeur (Phil Desourdy). Grand-maman Linda was especially proud of and adored her four grand-children, who loved to play and travel with her: Maëlle, Alyssa, Ryan and Connor. Linda was predeceased by her parents Nicholas and Jeannine Reznick of Kemptville and is survived by her sisters Debbie Vettoretti (Renso); Karen Brown (Steve); Darlene Dalton (Darcy) and brother Nick. She was the aunt and sister-in-law to countless relatives in the Jolicoeur & Reznick families.
Linda had a longstanding career with the City of Ottawa Parks and Recreation Dept, starting her role as the Director of the Sandy Hill Community Centre in the 1970’s and assuming leadership roles in arts and culture programming and communications thereafter. Following amalgamation, Linda assumed responsibility for corporate communications of several large municipal departments. Her retirement years were filled with travel and spending time with the children at the family cottage on Lac Sinclair.
The family would like to express its sincere appreciation to Dr. Ong at the Ottawa Cancer Centre; the Carefor nurses who provided a host of services and Dr. Regine Krechowicz who expertly directed palliative care and did so with utmost dedication and compassion. We were blessed to have you as our principal caregivers.
