Frances Morris

Peacefully, at home surrounded by her family on July 30, 2011, age 96, following a courageous battle with cancer. Beloved wife and best friend of the late Leo Morris. Daughter of the late Joseph and Charlotte (Armitage) Murray. Proud mother of Robert (Lynda) and Linda Smithers. Cherished Auntie to Helen, Arlene, and the late Glen (Murray). Loving Nanny to Tammy (Alan), Amanda (Paul), Shannon (Joshua), Scott (Jessica), and Jeff (Taya). Great Nanny to Jordan, Justin, Cooper, Parker, Shaeffer, Wyatt, Lachlin and Camden. Survived by brothers Gerald and Lawrence, sisters Muriel (Daly) and Eileen (McCaffrey) and sister-in-law and friend Elva (Murray). Predeceased by brothers Ernest, Jimmy, Alan, Donald, Clarence and baby Joseph. Loved and will be missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Sincere thanks to the CCAC Palliative Care Team, Annemarie, Rosline and Father Larry McCormick was a great comfort to Frances and her family. Friends may pay respects at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road (at Albion Road) on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass Thursday at Saint Patrick’s Basilica, 220 Kent Street, Ottawa at 9:30 a.m. Interment St. Martin’s Cemetery, Martindale.
