To John and Family: My deepest sympathies for your loss. I truly enjoyed travelling with Debbie and I will forever remember her "lobster hat" on our last Cape Cod trip.

Debbie always came to the television studio when Matt was working with trays of "Ficner Food" for all of us.  The best muffins and date squares and cookies we ever had.  It put the CBC cafeteria to shame.  She was a pleasure and an inspiration.

My deepest sympathies to you.  I was honoured to serve with Debbie on National Council (Girl Guides) and she always had a warm heart, a generous hand, and a willing ear.  What a wonderful lady.  May you be comforted by fond memories.

Debbie and I met when we were both Area Commissioners. We served on the Provincial Council for five years. I have wonderful memories of Debbie,She was a dedicated Guider and respected by many.  I am so sorry for your loss.

To the family of Debbie,  please accept my deepest sympathy.  I was honoured to have met Debbie when she visited St. John's for GGC National AGM and since then met her at other Guiding functions.  I was so pleased to see her and chat with her at the National Advisers' Meetings in March 2008.  Debbie will be missed and she will be thought about many times. Debbie was a good friend many years ago when we both worked on the Ottawa Area Camps Committee.  Many good times at Opemikon and Arrowhead, meetings at Boy Scout Headquarters, conferences in Toronto, Counsellors Conferences in Ottawa.  And food was part of everything - usually provided by Debbie!  I'm sorry we lost touch over the years, and I was devastated to hear that she is gone.  Deepest sympathy to her family.
