Chantal Lalonde

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Chantal Lalonde, age 44, on August 13, 2024 after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Chantal's untimely departure has left a deep void in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Beloved wife of Todd, loving mother of Emma and Ryan, cherished daughter of Shirley (Brent) and Andre (Pat), and dear sister to Dan (Jhada), Patrick, and Sarina (Brock); father-in-law Albert, mother-in-law Jane, and brother-in-law Kevin. Chantal was also a loving aunt to Erik, Taylor, Avah, and Leah, and will be missed by her many aunts and uncles including her godparents Mike and Fran, and her many cousins.

Born on October 5, 1979, Chantal grew up in Ottawa, Ontario. In 2000 Chantal graduated with honours from the Developmental Services Worker program and began her work career. She met Todd, the love of her life, in 2004 and they married in 2008. Then came the two blessings in her life, her beautiful children.

Her family was the center of her universe, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Family gatherings were common in Chantal's home, which was filled with warmth, laughter, and love. Her family would gather around the table, sharing stories, playing games, and creating memories that would last a lifetime. She touched many lives through her career as a PSW and Care Coordinator, where she provided kindness and comfort to countless clients and their families.

A Celebration of Chantal's life will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024, at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home & Chapel at 1411 Hunt Club Rd, Ottawa. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 pm and a private interment will take place with the family.

The family would like to extend a thank you to the doctors and nurses at the Queensway Carleton Hospital for their compassion and support.

Chantal will forever remain in our hearts, and her spirit lives on in her children. May she rest in peace.
