It is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of Barry Martin Anderson, age 64, beloved husband of Dorothy Overton, cherished father of Mackenzie and Ryleigh Anderson. He will be dearly missed by his mother Frances Hocking, his sisters Elizabeth Kerr and Connie McFarland, his brothers Allan Anderson and Robert Hocking, and a motley crew of nieces, nephews and other family. He is welcomed home by his stepfather and fellow storyteller Bob Hocking.
Barry loved making people laugh, discovering radio stations from countries around the world, golfing, and most of all being a dad. He also loved to spend time with his dear friends, the Roses, Overalls, Hartleys, Chadwicks, Nolans, Persads, Brian Mackinnon, Andre Schad and many others.
A jokester to the end, he entertained us all -- including the remarkable, compassionate ICU team at the General Hospital. It is hard to express enough thanks to nurses Dave, Sean, Steve and Jessica and Dr. Andrew Seely.
A special man left us too soon, but he leaves us knowing we were loved fiercely, protected always. A celebration of Barry`s life will be planned at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, in memoriam donations to the Ottawa Hospital Foundation - General Campus, Cancer Unit and/or the ICU would be appreciated.
