It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Barbara F. L. Edwards on May 27, 2022.
Barbara was the beloved sister of Pearl La Foucade. She was a loving aunt to Heather La Foucade, adoring great- aunt to Amelia La Foucade and cherished by her extended family. Barbara was a caring friend to many people who she regarded as family and was called Auntie by many.
Barbara immigrated to Canada from Trinidad and Tobago in 1971. She studied Accounting at Algonquin College and shortly after her graduation, Barbara began her career with Public Works and Government Services Canada where she worked for over 26 years.
In retirement, Barbara was active in her community and enjoyed time with her family and friends.
Her carefree way of life was highlighted by her generosity, sharp humour, enormous capacity for love and fierce personality, which always made Barbara the life of the party... Her legacy will be lovingly remembered forever.
Friends are invited to a Celebration of Life for Barbara on Sunday June 5th at 3PM at the McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home and Chapel located at 1411 Hunt Club Rd. Ottawa, ON., K1V 1A6
