After a difficult year of health challenges, Alice passed away at the Elizabeth Bruyere Palliative Care Unit on Monday, October 8, 2012, at the age of 97 ½ years. Predeceased by husband Cecil Gorman, infant son Terry, sisters Doris, Rita and Irene. Loving mother of Lynda Gorman Pike (John) and Elona Brown (Peter). Very cherished Nanny of Lindsay Bowie (Ben). Great grandmother of Ava Alice and Weston Cameron. She was a tiny lady but she had a great presence in our lives. She was dearly loved and will always be missed. She taught us to accept aging with determination, grace and dignity. Special thanks to Dr. Chris Rivet, Rosaleen Munton RN, staff of the Ottawa Hospital, General Campus 7NW and palliative team, Billingswood Retirement Residence staff and the Palliative Care Team from Elizabeth Bruyere 5th floor. Visitation at the Beechwood Memorial Center on Friday, October 12, from 1 - 2 p.m. Funeral Service at 2 p.m. in the Sacred Space followed by a reception from 3 - 5 p.m.
