I am sitting here at work on this lonely, rainy day and I cannot get you off my mind. I miss EVERYTHING about you from your laugh, to your cooking, to your love. I still cannot accept the fact that you are gone, forever. You are my best friend and nobody will ever replace you. My coworker was asking me about my family earlier this afternoon and I kept repeating myself telling her that my dad is gone, but hes my best friend. I stand here today with a broken heart. The loss of any of my sons is some thing I could have never prepared for. Even during the past few days, under insurmountable odds, I refused to prepare myself. I wasn't ready. I am still not ready to say  Ajay "was". He had so many dreams and so many plans for the future. He is, sorry I meant he was such a very special brand, so different from me and really from most of us.

Ajay, Nimi and I love you with all our heart. We are profoundly proud of you.  You have taught me. I will continue to be the best dad I can be to your brothers and your children. I will not let you down. It is  now my turn to make you proud. I look forward to seeing again when the time comes for me..

Ajay and the entire Singhal family are like a second family to me. I spent 3 years going to school in Ottawa, living 7 hours away from my own family... and homesick a lot! I spent countless times at their house and cottage and always felt as though I was part of their family. I can honestly say I never felt homesick when I was with them!! 
Ajay spent his life caring for his family and everyone else who entered it. He will be sorely missed by everybody who has been touched by Ajay's kindness and generosity.

Hi Daddy. 
I can't believe how quickly things changed, but I will continue to tell you that I love you every single day, even if you are no longer here. I am so happy with the amount of time I got to spend with you in the past two weeks. Even though I was extremely busy with school and you were extremely busy with real estate and doing work at home, we still managed to make time for eachother. Last week, you brought me to Home Depot with you and let me pick out the frame that you were going to install for the mirror at home. That night, I started studying for my exam with you. You couldn't believe that I had memorized so much of the content for my exam, and you congratulated me on all my studying. That's a great memory that I will cherish forever, because my hardwork comes directly from you daddy. It's the little things that mean the most to me. The next day, you gave me money and told me to buy that carpet that I always dreamed of having, the one that I previously talked to you about at Home Depot. Then you said  happy early birthday vanessa and I was so happy because you showed your love for me in several different ways, every second of every day. Thank you for the early birthday gift daddy. Although you won't be here to spend my birthday with me this weekend, I got to spend 19 years of my life with you and we made so many memories in that time frame. I won't forget the summer nights we spent throwing the baseball back and fourth on the front lawn. I won't forget the support you provided me with at all my volleyball games, always cheering me on in the stands. I also won't forget the many times I dragged you shopping with me, because mom never liked to shop. You were a little girls bestfriend, my anchor and my biggest role model. I'm so happy with the time we spent together, memories that won't be forgotten. I remember the countless times this summer that I begged you to bring me out in the boat on the lake so that I could fish. Even if you didn't want to bring me fishing, you always did. Fishing has always been my favourite pass time, one that grew onto me because of you. We spent hundreds of nights by the lake and you did everything to make me happy. Because making me happy, made you happy. You were a man who always put others before yourself. And I love you for that. You were the type of person that I could lay in bed with all day, and talk to you about all my problems, and you'd never get bored. I will miss you greeting me every time I walked in the door, into the most welcoming and loving home. Your words were How was school Hun?  How was work Hun? How was your exam Hun?. You took the greatest interest in my life, and I'm shattered to know that this is reality, a living nightmare that I was not prepared for. You truly were my bestfriend daddy but on the bright side, I am pleased to know that you didn't suffer. You lived a life filled with happiness and love. You loved travelling, the cottage and your home. But more than anything, you loved your family. I made sure to say goodnight to you every single night and you'd reply with the words Goodnight Hun and that always made me feel so special. You never failed at making me laugh. The greatest comedian, the most loving father, and the biggest role model any child could ever ask for. This is the most difficult thing I have ever had to experience, one without warning. But daddy, I won't forget to chase my dreams, like you always taught me to do. study hard vanessa, it will pay off. I love you so much daddy. You may be gone but you are never forgotten.

Dear Singhal family, I was very saddened to hear about Ajay. A trusted friend of 47 years, we had many good times together!
