Walter Peter Sinniger

He was born August 31, 1934 on the family farm in Otego the son of the late Walter A. and Mary T. (Zimmerman) Sinniger.

On June 29, 1957, Walter married Helen Gregory in Morris. Together they celebrated 58 wonderful years of marriage.

From a very young age, Walter worked on the family dairy farm in Otego until he decided to retire and sold the farm in 1998.

He was an avid reader; a history and science buff and had a love of flying. When he was able to he loved to travel. He also enjoyed feeding and watching the wildlife that they would get on the farm. Walter was a member of the Civil Air Patrol.

Walter is survived by his loving wife, Helen Sinniger of Otego; two children, Steven Sinniger of Otego and Audrey and Joseph DiGiorgi of Otego; two grandchildren, Anthony DiGiorgi and Shawna Hardy of Richmond, VA and Abigail DiGiorgi of Evansville, IN; three great grandchildren, Sullivan, Jack and Annabelle DiGiorgi of Richmond, VA; one sister, Agnes Kuhn of FL; three brothers, Robert Sinniger of TX, Michael Sinniger of Lyons and David Sinniger of MO; as well as several nieces and nephews.

At Walter’s request there will be no calling hours or funeral services. Memorial donations in his name may be made to the Fellowship Baptist Church, 1050 Covered Bridge Road, Unadilla, New York 13849.
