Michael "Mike" Eduardo Ferdinand

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Michael "Mike" Ferdinand, who was taken from us too soon on October 9, 2023. Mike’s absence leaves an aching void in our hearts, but his spirit lives on in the cherished memories we hold dear.

Mike was born on August 23, 1989, a birthdate he shared with his beloved wife, and partner, Mara, of 15 years. A man of unyielding kindness, Mike’s generous and infectious spirit touched the lives of everyone he met. Above all, Mike was a family man. He crafted a life with those he loved through shared dreams, mutual respect, and an unwavering support that stood as a testament to his character. Mike found joy and solace in the companionship of his loyal dog Stella. They were peas in a pod, two of the most stubborn spirits you would ever meet, but with endless playtime, adventures and snuggles. She will always be his Stella Boo. He connected profoundly with all living beings, illuminating the lives of others with his charismatic smile and contagious laugh. His passion for cars was not just a hobby, but a true love and a testament to his appreciation for the journey, for freedom, and the thrill of life.

He leaves behind his heartbroken wife, Mara, grieving father Miguel (Ildiko), mother Lynda, brothers Sergio, Jamil, sister Isabella, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and a community of friends and coworkers who were honored to know him in life. Each moment shared, every memory crafted, stands as a beacon of his enduring presence among us.

Visitation was held at the Oshawa Funeral Home, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Monday October 16, 2023 from 4 - 8 p.m and on Tuesday October 17th from 9:30 am until time of service to honour and remember Mike at 10:30am in the chapel.
