Marion passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 19th, 2023.
Marion was a loving and devoted wife to Joe (pre-deceased) her husband of 65 years. She was a cherished mother to Joseph (pre-deceased), Elaine (Chris), Steven (April), Marion (Ken) and Sandra (Walter). A fabulous and fun granny to Shea, Steven, Katherine, Alison, Shannon, Kevin, Juliano, Mia, Megan, Melanie and Allyson. And a great granny but lovingly known as wee granny to Joey, Aubree and Averie.
Marion was born on July 6th, 1936 in Glasgow Scotland. She met her husband Joe where they both worked at the Scottish Motor Traction where Joe drove the double decker bus and Marion was a conductress. They married in 1956 and immigrated to Canada in 1968 to start a new life. Marion soon started work at Gage Envelopes, she also worked for Pizza Hut, one of the highlights was a job opportunity to go back home to Glasgow Scotland to train employees for the new restaurant opening. She was adored by her colleagues, the younger ones calling her mom. Marion enjoyed endless summers at the trailer with her family and made life long friendships. She is also a long standing member of the Celtic Club in Whitby where she leaves behind very close friends. Marion along with her husband Joe have their names commemorated on the Celtic Football Club Stadium in Parkhead Scotland.
Marion lived her life to the fullest, she was a member of the OSCC where she attended crochet classes, Bingo and all the special events. She truly enjoyed the new friendships she made with the seniors and so looked forward to getting her apartment there.
In her final days, Marion was well cared for with her family vigilantly by her side. She left us peacefully knowing how much each everyone of us loved her. Rest in Peace dear sweet Marion, you’re back with your beloved husband Joe and your son Joseph. May your light continue to shine bright.
A private family funeral service will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date.
The family will have a ‘Celebration of Life’ when the time is right.
The family would like to express their sincerest thanks to doctors and the nurses at Oshawa Lakeridge Hospital who took care of her.
