(January 24th, 1923 - May 16th, 2017)
Our Lady of Perpetual Motion slipped peacefully away at Lakeridge Oshawa Hospital. Predeceased by James, her loving husband of 50 years, sons Michael and James, brothers and sisters Art, Jack, Marie, Eugene, Vernon, Evelyn and Martin. Her passing is mourned by her loving children, John (Judy), Barbara (Barry), Karen (Greg), Brian (Myia) (Sandy), Paula (Mike), Melanie, Christina (James), Lisa (Jay), adoring grandchildren Taylor, Jamie, Molly, Daniel, Eric (Mallory), Selina (Dave), Mike (Dawn), Rebecca, Melissa (Mike), Ryan, Jada, Kevin, Ian (Shirin), Julie-Ann, Colin (Bree), Emily (Charles), Jillian, Simon, Meghan, Dylan, Graham, Mason and Madelaine and great grandchildren Kyle, Britain, Riley and Aidan. Survived by her brother Lloyd, nieces and nephews. It’s impossible to fully describe Eleanor who was, simply put, unbelievable. She was strong, gracious, loyal, independent, generous, vivacious, clever, funny and loving. A devout Catholic, Franciscan, singer, dancer, sewer, practical joker, gardener, card shark, baker and Queen of Apple Pie, she will be deeply missed by all. Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Friday, May 19th from 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be held at ST. JOHN THE EVANGELIST CHURCH (903 Giffard Street, Whitby) on Saturday, May 20th at 10:30 a.m. As an expression of sympathy, and in lieu of flowers, donations will be gratefully accepted to St. Vincent’s Kitchen.
“Don’t think it hasn’t been fun, because it has.”
