David Durnford Shaw

Suddenly at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Tuesday, July 6th, 2021 in his 87th year. Survived by his wife Joyce of over 60 years. Cherished father to Bill (Karen), Charles (Jackie) and Robert (Sara). Loving Poppa to Christina, Laura and Sara and Grandpa to Lucas and Cooper. Beloved brother of his sister Ruth and his sister Patricia (pre-deceased). He will be remembered and missed by his family, friends and all those who knew him. David worked for GM for his entire career, starting as a mechanic and working through many positions in sales, supervision and experimental engineering. David was an avid gardener; his cucumbers and tomatoes were top notch and he took great pride in them. He sailed for years and enjoyed many sports such as golf, skiing and football. He took great joy in building toys for his grandchildren. Arrangements entrusted to OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West, (905-721-1234).
