Teresa Delee Barger, 67, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 7, 2023, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Teresa was the middle child of Marvin Gene Ward and Dolores Stahlheber Ward of Daytona Beach. She was the first New Year’s baby born at Halifax hospital in 1956.
Teresa met the love of her life, Roger Barger, on the swim team at Mainland High School in 1971 and they married in 1974. Together they enjoyed over 48 years of family, friends and trips to the mountains. She had a long career of bookkeeping with Jerry Braun, CPA. Teresa was actively involved in the Alliance Church as a member of the praise team and treasurer. She loved the mountains and motorcycle trips with her friends, but she loved her grandkids most of all. Teresa was known as the peacekeeper and many people called her their best friend.
Teresa is survived by her loving husband Roger Barger, daughter Stephanie Ingerman, son-in-law Glenn Ingerman, grandkids Jacob and Jaylynn, her brother Wes Ward, sister Gail Franklin and brother-in-law Bill Franklin, as well as nieces, nephews and many other family members and friends
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to Thrive Community Church of Port Orange, 6156 S Williamson Blvd, Port Orange, FL 32128, or Halifax Health Hospice of Port Orange, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129.
