Rosalind Marie (Archer) Miller went to be with the Lord on July 1, 2024. Rose, as she was known as by friends and family, was born in Lubec, Maine on August 23, 1939. Rose and Ralph B. Miller were married for 54 years until his death in 2012. While living in Wallingford, Connecticut Rose was a loyal Burger King employee for over 30 years. She was a member of the First Congregationalist Church of Wallingford until her move to Florida in 2000. This church holds an extra special place for the family as three generations, including Rose, were married within its walls.
Rose was a skilled crocheter, baker, and puzzle enthusiast. Rose always liked her coffee hotter than served, even while living in Florida. Rose was known for her award-winning Tapioca Pudding recipe, a Christmas staple for the family.
Rose followed her only daughter Susan J. (Miller) Lewis and son-in-law Walter S. Lewis, owners of WKL ROOFING, to Port Orange, Florida. There Rose and Ralph became members of Grace Episcopal Church where Ralph was later laid to rest in the Memorial Garden.
In her senior community Rose enjoyed bingo nights with friends, cruising the Caribbean and time with her growing family. Through these friendships Rose became a member of the West Virgina Club and became a sports fan. She would cheer on the WV collegiate football team in the fall and The Daytona Beach Tortugas in the spring, even becoming a season ticket holder. She later moved to Ormond Beach and became a Silver Sneaker member of Gold's Gym for almost 10 years.
Rose is survived by her daughter Susan Lewis (Walter), her two grandsons Walter Lewis Jr (Kathryn) and Kenneth Lewis (Brenna), and her four great-grandchildren, Dora Rose Lewis, Olivia R. Lewis, Simon W. Lewis and Kenneth R. Lewis Jr. In Maine, she is survived by her two brothers Raymond Archer (Linda) and James Archer, as well as many extended family members.
Celebration of Life will be held in a small intimate family-only service. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Grace Episcopal Church of Port Orange as the Memorial Garden will be her final resting place. Prayers are always appreciated.
