Mona F Harris

Mona F. Harris, 92, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. She was born on August 24, 1932, in Manlius, New York, to Mary and Joseph Filippelli. Mona is survived by her three daughters, Pamela Myers (Michael) of Ormond Beach, Jennifer Shiver (Jack) of Saint Augustine, and Nancy Todd (Coleman) of Rockledge; sister Ann Filippelli of Ocala; and beloved grandchildren, Sarah Myers, Jackie Myers, John Myers, Emily Myers, Amy Shannon, Jacob Breter, Caleb Breter, and Samuel Todd; and many nieces and nephews.

Mona lived a full life. She enjoyed cooking, reading, gardening and spending time with family. She graduated from Central City Business Institute in Syracuse, New York, and worked in retail and real estate. She also worked and volunteered at Pine Trail Elementary School for many years. She attended Prince of Peace Catholic Church.

Her greatest joy, by far, was her family. She was our guiding light, instilling strong values and carrying on traditions that will be remembered always. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

A Mass of Catholic Burial will be held at Prince of Peace Catholic Church on Friday, December 20, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., followed by her burial at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home and Park. Friends are invited to gather at her home following the service.
