Mary H. Flynn

Mary Lou Hickox Flynn, 83, resident of Kingsley Lake Florida, passed away on January 27, 2015 in Port Orange, Florida after a brief illness. Mary was born in Brantley County, Georgia on November 8, 1931 to Frank Hickox and Hattie Ammons Hickox and was the youngest of 12 children. She graduated from high school in Nahunta, GA in 1948. She married Charles L. Flynn on April 15, 1950 in Jacksonville, FL. They were blessed with five children. Mary was an employee of Southern Bell Telephone where she worked in the engineering department as a Plant Assigner. She retired in June1985 after 33 years with the company. Her retirement was spent as a permanent resident of Kingsley Lake, FL where she enjoyed spending time with her large extended family. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Charles Flynn and her 11 siblings. Survivors include daughter Bonnie Gyarfas (Alex) of Port Orange, FL, daughter Cheryl King (Joe), Keystone Heights, FL, son, Randy Flynn (Rachel) Jacksonville, FL, daughter Carol Strickland (Stuart) of Kingsley Lake, FL, son Richard Flynn (Debbie) of Lake Butler, FL and 14 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

A visitation is scheduled for Saturday January 31, 2015 from 9:00 A.M. – 10:00 A.M. at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, located at 548 North Nova Road, Ormond Beach, Florida 32174. The funeral service will take place at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home with an interment to follow at Volusia Memorial Park, located at 550 North Nova Road, Ormond Beach, Florida 32174.
