Margie Lupi Fedorovich, 86, of Ormond Beach, Florida, passed away on February 5, 2012.
Visitation will be Thursday February 9, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00PM at the Volusia Memorial Funeral Home 548 N. Nova Rd. Ormond Beach, FL 32174 and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday February 10, 2012 at St. Brendan Roman Catholic Church 1000 Oceanshore Blvd, Ormond Beach, FL.
Margie was born on August 20, 1925 in Powhatan Point, Ohio to Charles and Angelina Lupi. Her father passed away when she was a young girl, as did her younger brother. While growing up, Margie was very close to her mother and she remained close with her until her passing in 1995.
Margie was married to the love of her life, John, for 64 years until his passing on March 12, 2011. She provided strong love and support for John, as well as their three sons, Rick, Nick, and Dennis; was a kind and caring mother-in-law to Lisa, Lois, and Robyn, and a proud and nurturing “nonna” and great “nonna” to Dr. Sarah Bland (Giselle and Lucas), Julie Stein (Olivia and Caleb), Alex Fedorovich, and Jack and Brett Fedorovich.
After marrying John, they moved to Akron, where they lived until 1984. Margie was very active at St. Matthew’s Church and Archbishop Hoban High School, where she was a source of support to her sons as they attended the school and also to the extended school families of Hoban. Margie’s sons were a source of great pride to her as they went on to the Universities of Akron, Toledo, and Notre Dame, respectively. She worked at Goodyear earlier in her life and then later at Archbishop Hoban High School, and finally, as executive secretary to the CEO of St. Thomas Hospital in Akron.
Margie loved nothing better than being with family and friends. Always the excellent cook, her home was always the place to gather.
Margie moved to Ormond Beach in 1984 to enjoy its beaches and sunny weather. She had much of her family close to her there, and they were a great source of comfort, enjoyment, and support. She developed a great group of friends in Florida to complement the many friendships she maintained in Ohio.
She was a strong supporter of Hoban and both Hoban and Notre Dame football, though she never understood the game. She loved playing cards though the speed at which she did so often left John exasperated.
Margie was a strong wife and mother with an approach thoroughly grounded in love for those she cared about. Her baking skills were second to none and few that knew her ever went without her homemade cheesecake or coffee cake. She was extraordinarily proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and rarely missed their many events.
But most of all, Margie loved John for their 64 years of marriage, plus the one year that followed his passing. For her sons, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren, her legacy will include the shining example she set as a loving partner and companion in a lifelong marriage that was an inspiration to all who witnessed it. We will miss her greatly but are very thankful for her wonderful life and our part in it.
