James M. Patterson

James M. Patterson, age 84, of Pierson, Florida passed away on Wednesday November 20, 2019. James was born November 12, 1935, in Oak Hill, FL to his loving parents Emory and Beatrice Patterson. James lived his life to the fullest. He loved to travel, take pictures, football, the Atlanta Braves, and any outdoor activity, especially hunting and fishing. Watching children play or a good joke could always make James laugh. Education was important to him. He was an honest straight-forward type of man and was always willing to help those around him.

James lived his life as a civil servant. He faithfully served his county in the Army as a Green Beret after returning home he worked as a Life Guard and eventually the Chief of Police for the City of Ormond Beach. James is survived by his son David Patterson; daughter Angie Patterson; grandchildren: Malcolm Patterson, Brenton Patterson, Trevor Patterson, Colten Patterson; and his sister Anna (Larry) Leeman. James will be dearly missed by all those that knew and loved him.

A celebration of life and visitation for James will be held Tuesday, December 3, 2019, at 1:00 PM at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, 548 N Nova Rd, Ormond Beach, Florida 32174. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, December 3, 2019, at 2:00 PM, 548 N Nova Rd, Ormond Beach, Florida 32174. A committal service will occur Tuesday, December 3, 2019, at 2:30 PM at Volusia Memorial Park, 500 N Nova Road, Ormond Beach, FL 32174.
