Gary grew up in Round Lake, IL, where he attended St. Paul Lutheran School and Round Lake High School, Class of 1969. He loved sports and started playing baseball for the varsity team as a sophomore.
After high school, Gary worked at Eagle Food Center in Round Lake and married the love of his life, Gail Ann Lindholm, of Fox Lake on October 14, 1972. They had two sons, Brock and Lance, and moved to Port Orange in 1985 where they have owned and operated Blue Water Pools ever since. Gary retired in 2015 but the business is still family owned.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Glenn, and sister, Diana. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, his sons, and his brother, Ed Miller. His grandchildren meant the world to him, and left to cherish his memory are Bane and Summer (Brock) and Britton, Scarlett, and Behren (Lance) as well as many nieces and nephews who were very fond of him.
