Mark Lowell, born in Boonville, Indiana on December 18, 1928, passed away on October 19,2016. He was the son of Roy and Hallie (Tweedy) Lowell. Mark attended Secretarial and Business School in the Midwest. He worked for Blue Cross/Blue Shield in Chicago, then transferred to the NYC Office where he worked until retiring at age 40. Mark with his life partner, Jack Watts, lived in New York City, Sherman, CT, Doylestown, PA, before settling on Cape Cod, first in Harwichport and then in South Orleans.
Mark acted as co-pilot/navigator to Jack on their flights to the Caribbean where they particularly enjoyed stays at Shibui on St. Thomas, VI. Together they travelled extensively, often boating around the islands in the Caribbean winters, and back and forth to Nantucket in the summertime.
Always a gentleman, who appreciated well-tailored clothing, Mark was an accomplished dancer, decorator, and cook. He enjoyed music from the American Songbook and was a Broadway theatre enthusiast…and loved Seinfeld reruns.
Mark was predeceased by his sister and this past June, by his life partner, Jack Watts.
Visiting hours will be held at Nickerson Funeral Home in Orleans on Saturday, October 22nd from 8:30 to 9:30 AM; followed by celebration of Mass at St. Joan of Arc, Orleans at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Orleans Cemetery.
