George E. Dunn Jr.

George E. Dunn, Jr., 86, of Orleans, formerly of Milton and Dorchester, passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at the Terraces Convalescent Home in Orleans. George was the son of George and Anna (McDermott) Dunn, brother of the late Dorothea Powers and the late Robert Dunn. Beloved husband of the late Patricia (Vaughan) Dunn, loving father of Brian and his wife Maureen of Plymouth and Patrick and his wife Karen of Novi, MI. Cherished grandfather of William, Matthew, Allison, Meaghan, Bridget, Patrick and Christopher Dunn. Great grandfather of Thomas Dunn.

George was an active member of his community through the Orleans Council on Aging, Nauset Newcomers, Boston College Club of Cape Cod, Knights of Columbus, Orleans Yacht Club, Thursday Men’s Coffee Club and the “barber shoppers”. Long time starter at Captains Golf Club in Brewster. Retired Boston School teacher at South Boston and Brighton High School. Visiting hours will be 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Nickerson Funeral Home, Orleans. A memorial mass will be celebrated at St. Joan of Arc Church, at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Orleans Council on Aging.
