Charles Edward “Ed” Moore passed away on March 23, 2024 in Cape Cod Hospital. Ed was born in Washington DC on July 10, 1937. He was a football athlete in both high school and college. His football coach saw in him a special young man and encouraged him to follow a call to the ministry. Ed always wanted to bring people to know Jesus Christ as their personal savior, and that was his life’s mission. He met Mary Prentice at Camp Wabanna in Edgewater MD, where they shared common desires. They were married in March of 1959 and moved to North Carolina where Ed attended seminary at Mars Hill College. He became the pastor of numerous churches and pastored all his life - even after retirement. In 1997 he wanted to raise money to help build a church – so he trained and finished the 101st Boston Marathon at age 60! He was the founder of Moore Security and Services on Cape Cod and was known all over the Cape for his generous and caring spirit. Throughout all of his various experiences and other endeavors, Ed never lost focus of the call he felt God gave him. He touched and impacted many lives with the love of God, sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with anyone he met – both young and old. He has left behind his brother, Robert of Great Falls VA, his son Paul (Karen) and daughter Ruth (Rick), four grandchildren, and one great grandchild on the way. He passed away peacefully with unwavering faith after a brief illness. His loved ones were by his side knowing he was, in his words, “Going Home”. A graveside service for Charles "Ed" will be held Thursday, March 28, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Orleans Cemetery, 144 Main St, Orleans, MA 02653.
