Bill was born in Athens Ga. on August 6, 1920 moving to Florida when he was about 10 years old. Bill joined the United States Marine Corps from 1940 to 1945 then worked at AP Clark Motors in Orlando Florida for approximately 5 years. Bill then joined the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1966 at which time he retired from military service and worked for ITT, retiring in 1984. Bill was a member on Conway First Baptist Church Orlando Florida. Bill loved boating and travel.
Bill is survived by his children Margaret Edwardsen and Edward Burkhalter. Grandchildren: Stacey Miller, Ryan Burkhalter, Kimberly Singleton, Mark Riley, Julie Dewey Great Grandchildren: Savannah Miller, Austin Miller, Easton Burkhalter, Kaylee Racki, Seth Riley, Mischa Riley, Riley Dewey and Colson Singleton
A graveside service for Walter will be held Tuesday, October 18, 2022 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, Florida 33513. Rev. Hilton Davis officiating.
